Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how IDN Technology Group Inc. (“IDN”, “we”, “us”) handles information when you use IDN Code (the desktop application), the website idncode.com, the download service at download.idncode.com, and the IDN account services that IDN Code relies on: sign-in, your compute balance, and the model gateway at api.idnagent.com.
IDN Code uses the same IDN account as other IDN products and the IDN account console (console.idnagent.com). Some account features described below, such as purchases, referrals and transfers of compute, exist only in the console. We describe them here because they involve the same account.
1. The short version
- IDN Code runs on your computer. Your workspace files and your conversation history are stored on your computer, not on our servers.
- When you give the assistant a task, the content needed for that request is sent to our gateway and forwarded to a third-party AI model provider to produce the response. This includes your instructions, the relevant conversation history, and any file contents or images that are part of the task.
- Our gateway does not store the content of chat requests. It stores usage records such as time, token counts and compute charged.
- The AI model provider we currently use is located in the People’s Republic of China.
- We do not sell personal information. The website idncode.com uses no cookies, no advertising trackers and no analytics.
2. Information we collect
Account information
Your email address, or your blockchain wallet address if you registered with a wallet; a salted hash of your password; your own referral code and the referral code you registered with; your account status; and the dates you registered and last signed in.
Device and sign-in information
When you sign in from IDN Code, the app obtains a device key for your computer. We store a hash of that key, the time it was last used, and a device label made up of your operating system platform and your computer’s host name. We also store session tokens for signed-in sessions.
Usage and billing records
For each model request we record the time, the model tier, the number of input and output tokens, the compute reserved and charged, how long the request took, and whether it succeeded. If a request fails, we may keep a short excerpt, up to 300 characters, of the error message returned by the model provider. In rare cases that excerpt could contain a fragment of the request.
Content you submit for processing
The content of a request passes through our gateway on its way to the model provider. The gateway reads it in memory to route the request, estimate usage and calculate charges. It does not write the content of chat requests to our database, files or logs.
Purchases
Compute is purchased in the IDN account console, not in IDN Code. Payment is made by blockchain transfer. We record the order, the paying wallet address, the transaction hash and the amounts. We do not collect card or bank account details. Transactions on public blockchains are visible to anyone.
Website and downloads
idncode.com sets no cookies and contains no forms. It stores one item in your browser’s local storage: your language preference. Our hosting and content delivery provider processes your IP address and browser information in order to deliver pages and files and to protect against abuse, and may keep its own logs.
IDN Code checks for updates by requesting a small version file from download.idncode.com. That request carries no account or device identifier.
Information that stays on your computer
Conversation history, attachments, workspace files and application logs are stored in the application’s data folder on your computer. Your session token and device key are stored using your operating system’s secure storage; the assistant engine also keeps a copy of the device key in a local credentials file that only your operating-system user account can read. If you add your own API keys for other model providers, they are stored in that same local file, and requests on those routes go directly from your computer to that provider without passing through IDN.
IDN Code has telemetry and crash reporting turned off and contains no advertising or analytics software.
The “connect a phone” feature
IDN Code lets you continue a task from your phone. To support this, the app listens on a network port on your computer that devices on the same local network can reach; requests from public internet addresses are refused. A phone must be paired with a QR code or a passcode before it can read your sessions or send instructions. On a local network, the connection between your phone and your computer is not encrypted.
If you use the feature over the internet, or if your computer has no local network address when you open the pairing window, the connection is relayed through a third-party tunnelling service, and the traffic passes through that service.
3. How we use information
- To provide and operate the service, sign you in, and route your requests to a model.
- To measure usage and deduct compute from your balance.
- To keep the service secure and to detect and prevent fraud and abuse.
- To answer your requests for support.
- To meet legal, tax, accounting and audit obligations.
- To understand overall usage so we can plan capacity and improve the service.
We do not use the content of your requests to train AI models, and we do not build advertising profiles.
4. How information is shared
AI model providers
To produce a response, our gateway forwards the full content of your request to a third-party AI model provider. The gateway does not attach your email address, account ID or IP address; the provider sees the request as coming from our servers. Whatever you include in the content itself is, of course, visible to the provider.
Providers process this content under their own terms and privacy policies, and may retain it as those policies describe. The provider we currently use is located in the People’s Republic of China. We may change providers. Contact us if you want to know where the current provider is located.
Infrastructure providers
We use a cloud hosting provider for our servers and database, which are currently located in Hong Kong SAR, and Cloudflare for the website, downloads and, where enabled, bot protection on sign-in and registration pages.
Other users, in limited cases
The IDN account system requires a referral code at registration. The user whose code you used can see your account email, your registration date and your compute purchases, and you can see that user’s account email. If compute is transferred between accounts in the console, each party can see the other’s account email. IDN Code does not offer these features, but it uses the same account.
Blockchain networks
To verify a payment, we send the wallet address and transaction hash to public blockchain nodes.
Legal, safety and business transfers
We may disclose information when required by law or legal process, to protect the rights, property or safety of our users, the public or IDN, and in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case this policy continues to apply to information already collected.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
5. How long we keep information
- Account information is kept while your account is open.
- Usage, billing and ledger records are financial records. We keep them for as long as needed for accounting, tax, audit and dispute purposes.
- Session tokens expire 14 days after they are issued.
- Device keys do not expire automatically. Signing out of IDN Code deletes the key from your computer and ends your session. If you believe a key has been exposed, contact us and we will revoke it.
- Data stored on your computer stays there until you delete it.
6. Security
We protect information with measures that include encryption in transit, storing passwords and device keys only as hashes, and restricting administrative access. No system is perfectly secure. You are responsible for keeping your computer, your account password and your device keys safe, and for deciding whether to use the phone-connection feature on networks you do not trust.
7. Where information is processed
IDN Technology Group Inc. is a company based in the United States. Our servers are currently located in Hong Kong SAR, and our service providers, including AI model providers, operate in the People’s Republic of China and other countries. By using the service you understand that your information will be processed in these places, whose data protection laws may differ from those where you live.
8. Your choices and rights
- You decide what content to include in a task. Do not include information you are not permitted to share or do not want processed by a third-party model provider.
- You can sign out of IDN Code at any time, and you can delete locally stored data by removing it from the application’s data folder.
- You may ask us for a copy of the account information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account. We will verify the request through your account email or wallet. We will delete or de-identify your information unless we need to keep it to complete transactions, meet legal, tax, accounting or audit obligations, resolve disputes or prevent fraud. Records of administrative actions taken on an account remain in our security log.
Depending on where you live, for example in California and certain other U.S. states, you may have legal rights to know what personal information we collect, to access, correct or delete it, and not to be treated differently for exercising those rights. Where those laws apply to us, we will honor requests made by you or by an agent you have authorized, and we will respond within the time the law requires.
Our website does not track you across other sites, so it does not respond to “Do Not Track” signals.
9. Children
IDN Code is intended for adults. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. When we do, we will post the new version on this page and change the effective date. If a change is material, we will also give notice on the website or in the application before it takes effect.
